The melee combat is pretty terrible, very simplistic but also OP. I can't remember all the abilities but I know one class can call in a drone and some weapons are class specific. The ranged weaponry is pretty good and each class has abilities such as the apothecary has a few different ways to heal the team and the librarian is basically the spellcaster.

Space Hulk feels like you are in a constant horde attack. You will noticed the genestealers are constantly attacking you, with the exception of the first level which has a bit of build-up but from that point on you are constantly being attacked, so there's little sense of flow with the gameplay like there is with Verminitde which has mobs scattered around the level but also has ambushes, hordes and bosses that give the gameplay a certain rhythm. The game looks great, has some atmosphere but it gets boring after a few hours. The gameplay is just okay for Space Hulk. DW is heavier on the co-op experience (unless you purposely try to cheese with specific builds), especially on the upper 2 difficulties + friendly fire. V2 is more fun to just do random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in since it's more of a power trip.

Shame, because it does the whole team play co-op aspect of a horde survival game better than V2 imo. It basically exists as V2 would have if Fatshark had dropped it immediately after releasing Bogenhafen. They spent way too long fixing the original game to get it up to what it is now, and by the time they did all that, they were presumably out of resources due to poor sales and couldn't even push out any new content for it, save for a couple short maps. The downside is that it's basically dead. It is less buggy, performs about the same as V2 despite looking 5x better, represents the corresponding lore design/aesthetic better than V2, and it has an excellent full-body first person rendition that's way better than V2's for immersion. a LOT better?ĭW is, on a technical level, better than V2. Out of 10 how much would you give each game? From what I understand so far Vermintide is.
